The program started at the Dong-a Apartment Senior Citizen Center on July 6 and will visit major senior centers in the community for a total of 12 sessions.
The "Visiting Laughter Therapist" goes beyond simple recreation, consisting of emotional stabilization programs such as promoting a positive mindset, health management tips, and strengthening cognitive functions.
In particular, the program has been well-received as it involves moving the body and mind together to trot music and utilizing cognitive tools.
Kim Mi-hwa, president of the Yonghyeon 5-dong Residents Association, said, "It is very rewarding to see the elderly laughing, moving, and communicating with each other. We will continue to discover and operate community-friendly welfare projects."
The Residents Association plans to review the results of this pilot project to decide whether to expand it in the future.
