The Incheon Metropolitan Saeil Center (인천광역새일센터, Incheon Women and Family Foundation (인천여성가족재단)) announced that it concluded roughly three weeks of operation of the '2026 Incheon Young Women's Job Policy Planning Group' (2026 인천 청년여성 일자리 정책기획단) with its fifth session on Friday, July 10. Nine young women (ages 20 to 35) who live or attend school in Incheon (인천) took part, with the program running at the Incheon Women and Family Foundation (인천여성가족재단) from June 22 to July 10.

Nine young women take part as policy planners

This year's policy planning group is a program in which young women take part not merely as beneficiaries of policy but as policy planners who directly propose projects.

Working with professional facilitators, participants went through a process of generating ideas, hearing case studies from the field, and refining their proposals, ultimately producing job-creation project proposals tailored to young women that can be applied directly at Saeil centers.

Collaboration among four Incheon and Gyeonggi Saeil centers boosts on-the-ground feasibility

This year's program focused on strengthening 'on-the-ground feasibility.' Building on last year's achievement, when a proposed idea led to a policy proposal and the introduction of an ordinance in the Incheon Metropolitan Council (인천시의회), this year's operations were refined so that the resulting proposals could be linked to actual projects at Incheon's eight regional Saeil centers.

During the program, participants also submitted a policy proposal to the '2026 Incheon Metropolitan City Youth Policy Contest' (2026 인천시 청년정책 공모전), creating an opportunity to expand young women's participation in policymaking. Staff from the Bupyeong (부평) and Gyeyang (계양) Saeil centers in Incheon, as well as the Namyangju (남양주) and Icheon (이천) Saeil centers in Gyeonggi (경기), directly observed the sessions and provided field-based consulting.

Outstanding proposals to be considered for pilot projects

The project proposals put forward by participants will be shared at an upcoming session with team leaders from the eight regional Saeil centers, and outstanding proposals will be considered for linkage with pilot projects or next year's full-scale programs.

Shin Seung-bae (신승배), Acting President of the Incheon Women and Family Foundation (인천여성가족재단), said, "This policy planning group is meaningful in that it has laid the groundwork for young women's genuine voices to be translated into actual Saeil center projects," adding, "We hope this collaboration between the Incheon and Gyeonggi Saeil centers will serve as a meaningful catalyst for further strengthening employment support policies for young women in the greater Seoul metropolitan area."
