Ongjin-gun County announced on the 18th that it held an advanced financial education program titled 'The Story of Moving Money' for Dream Start children at the Ongjin-gun Family Center on the 14th. The program was organized by the Welfare Policy Division's Hope Dream Team to help children build a proper understanding of finance and healthy spending habits.
The training was conducted for children who had already completed the basic course. It was designed as an advanced learning program so that children could acquire financial knowledge directly applicable to daily life, including the flow and value of money, saving and investment, and safe money management methods.
Notably, the program moved beyond simple lectures, actively making use of hands-on teaching materials tailored to children's level, such as lecture materials, activity sheets and board games. This allowed participating children to learn financial concepts as if playing, while communicating with one another.

One child who took part in the training said, "I learned how to spend and save money, and studying with friends through quizzes and games made it easier to understand and fun as well. From now on, I will save on my own and think twice before choosing how to spend my allowance."
An Ongjin-gun County official said, "Having children understand the flow of money from an early age and develop the habit of managing it themselves becomes a lifelong asset. We hope this advanced training serves as a guide to understanding finance in everyday life, and we will continue to prepare various educational programs that can provide practical help in forming sound economic values among children."
As Dream Start is a program that supports the healthy growth and development of children from vulnerable groups, this training, which gives children early experience in making their own judgments about saving and spending, is expected to serve as a foundation for building their capacity for self-reliance.
