The donation was pooled little by little by employees of Daehan Public Pollution Engineering. At the donation ceremony held that day, Team Leader Jeong Myeong-ok attended on behalf of CEO Kim Chul-yong to deliver the funds.
The donated money will be used, via the Incheon Community Chest of Korea, for welfare projects supporting low-income vulnerable groups and households in welfare blind spots.
CEO Kim Chul-yong said, "We wanted to come together to be of even a little help to our neighbors in the community who are struggling." He added, "We hope this small gesture brings some comfort to those in difficult circumstances, and we will continue this meaningful sharing going forward."
Kim Sang-gyu, head of Yeonan-dong, said, "I sincerely thank the CEO and employees for taking the lead in showing such warm generosity." He added, "We will make sure the donation is used carefully for neighbors who need help, and put it to valuable use in building a warmer Yeonan-dong."
The Yeonan-dong Community Social Security Council plans to continue running specialized programs based on this donation to help close welfare blind spots in the area.
The case illustrates how voluntary corporate giving can supplement the local welfare safety net, and is expected to provide tangible support for vulnerable groups.
