A large-scale music festival is set to open in Incheon. Sponsored by the Incheon Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Chan-dae) and the Incheon Tourism Organization (President Yoo Ji-sang), the ‘Sound Planet Festival 2026’ will run for two days from Sept. 5 to 6 at Paradise City in Incheon.

The festival will feature a total of five stages, including a main stage and a sub-stage. More than 70 top-tier domestic and international acts spanning generations and genres—among them YB, Young K (DAY6), Kim Jun-su (XIA), Cherry Filter and Guckkasten—will take part in a wide range of performances over the two days.

What stands out is that Incheon has placed its emphasis on cultivating the event not merely as a music concert but as a tourism-linked ‘stay-and-experience event.’ The idea is to offer visitors who come to Incheon for the shows a range of conveniences, such as tourism and lodging tie-in services, so that they can experience the region’s diverse tourism content and stay a while as they enjoy the performances. The aim is to ensure that visits prompted by the concerts do not end as one-day trips but lead to local spending and longer stays.

To support this, an ‘Incheon Tourism Information Desk’ will be set up inside the venue. It will provide real-time guidance on major attractions and things to do, tailored to visitors’ tastes and needs. In addition, to improve mobility for concertgoers, dedicated shuttle buses will run not only between key points in Incheon but also connecting the metropolitan area with major regional cities, boosting accessibility.

Kim Young-shin, director general of Incheon’s International Cooperation Bureau, said, ‘We hope the Sound Planet Festival will go beyond a simple music concert to establish itself as a flagship stay-and-experience event where domestic and international visitors can enjoy both tourism and culture while staying in Incheon.’ He added, ‘Going forward, we will spare no effort in providing full support so that large-scale culture and arts events can be organically combined with Incheon’s excellent tourism and MICE infrastructure, expanding visitor stays and leading to tangible revitalization of the local economy and the development of the MICE industry.’
