Ganghwa-gun announced that it will hold the ‘2026 8th Ganghwa October Love (10月愛) Concert’ on Saturday, Oct. 17, at 5:30 p.m. on a special stage at the Ganghwa Public Stadium.
Now in its eighth year, the concert has established itself as a signature autumn event representing Ganghwa-gun. What sets it apart is that it is not aimed at any single generation; instead, it seeks to be a stage for community harmony where everyone from young people to the elderly gathers in one place to enjoy the show.
The program spans a wide range of genres. Five popular acts — Kim Yong-bin, Kim Ha-on, Wax, Heo Chan-mi and EHJM — will take the stage, moving across trot, hip-hop, ballad and rock. In addition, the local young musicians’ group ‘Pureun Maeum Arts Troupe’ and ‘Adorable’, the dance club of Ganghwa Girls’ Middle School, will perform together, showcasing the region’s cultural talent. The lineup is intended to embrace a broad audience across generations and tastes.
Admission is free for everyone. Doors open at 3 p.m. on the day of the event, on a first-come, first-served basis. Seating is divided into a Ganghwa residents’ section and a general section; those wishing to sit in the residents’ section must bring an ID confirming their status as a Ganghwa resident. General attendees accompanying a Ganghwa resident may also be seated in the residents’ section, a measure meant to let locals enjoy the performance side by side with family and neighbors.
A photo zone and a food zone will be set up at the venue for the audience. The concert will culminate in a fireworks display.
A county official said, ‘As autumn deepens, we hope this becomes a time for families, friends and neighbors to enjoy music together and create precious memories,’ adding, ‘We will do our utmost in preparing the event so that it can be a place of community harmony that many residents and visitors alike can enjoy together.’
The free admission and diverse genre lineup carry particular significance in that they offer local residents — who have relatively few opportunities to enjoy culture — an accessible way to experience a live performance.
