Ganghwa-gun (Governor Park Yong-cheol) is recruiting participants for the 2026 Ganghwa Local Artists Festival through September 27 to support the creative activities of local artists and broaden opportunities for residents to enjoy culture and the arts. The festival will be held on October 31.

Ganghwa-gun announced that it has organized the 2026 Ganghwa Local Artists Festival so that artists active in the region can showcase their works and performances, and residents can enjoy them up close. The festival will be held on October 31.
Alongside performances by local artists, the festival will feature an art market presenting artistic creations, cultural and art products, and Ganghwa specialty goods. A distinctive feature is that it goes beyond artistic creation to encompass local specialties, serving as a venue that links culture with the regional economy.
Recruitment is divided into two categories: performing arts and the art market. The performing arts category targets artists and art groups capable of staging performances of 15 minutes or longer, including popular music, bands, dance, and street performances. The art market category recruits businesses to sell and promote artistic creations, cultural and art products, and Ganghwa specialty goods.
Applications can be submitted by email or in person from September 14 to 27. Detailed information is available in the notices and announcements section of the Ganghwa-gun Office website, and inquiries can be directed to the Cultural Events Team of the Culture and Sports Division (☎ 032-930-3578).
An official from Ganghwa-gun said, ‘We hope this will be an occasion where local artists can present their works and performances, and residents can enjoy a variety of culture and arts close at hand,’ adding, ‘We ask for the strong interest and participation of local artists.’
The festival holds significance in that it offers artists active in the region a stage to meet audiences directly and promote their works, while giving residents an opportunity to encounter diverse performances and art products in their everyday lives.
