SmileStory Inc. (WIA Standards), a global AI standardization company, today announced the open-source release of .wia, the world’s first AI-native document format, along with its reference runtime WIA SOOM. The company is officially seeking pilot partners in autonomous robot fleet operations.

The .wia format is a superset of Markdown. Every .md file is a valid .wia file. It adds executable blocks (sh run, sql, ai, verify), self-verification (PASS/FAIL assertions), AI integration (Soomy agent), and source attribution.

The global runbook automation market is valued at $1.8 billion, yet there is no standard format that unifies documentation, execution, and verification. Just as Dockerfile standardized container builds, .wia standardizes operational procedures.

22 Features, 254 Languages, 120+ File Formats

WIA SOOM v3.8.1 ships with 5 block types, 11 attributes, 7 input types, 9 special variables, 66 file viewers (120+ formats), SSH-based ROS 2 robot bridge (18 IPC endpoints), fleet manager (13 IPC endpoints), and a server self-healing loop. Supporting 254 languages, global field operators can work in their native language.

The Missing Layer in Physical AI

While NVIDIA builds the brain (GR00T) and FANUC/ABB build the body, no standard tool exists for diagnosing, recovering, and managing deployed robot fleets. WIA SOOM bridges this gap with SSH-based ROS 2 management and .wia runbooks that auto-execute recovery procedures.

Seeking Pilot Partners

SmileStory seeks collaboration with robot manufacturers, logistics automation companies, cloud/DevOps companies, universities, and education providers. Partners receive free Enterprise license, co-developed .wia runbooks, dedicated support, and WIA certification integration.
