The district's Land Information Division announced on Sept. 2 that it is pursuing this road name assignment project for forest trails. The project covers five forest trail sections in the district that previously lacked separate road names, making it difficult to pinpoint exact locations. With this measure, the sections now have a clear address system in place.
There had been concerns that walking paths or forest trails without road names could make it difficult for rescue teams or fire authorities to determine exact locations in the event of an accident or emergency. With the new road names systematizing the relevant location information, a swift response is expected to become possible in emergency situations.

The new road names are also expected to enhance convenience for everyday users engaged in walking, exercise and other activities. Once the names are reflected on location signage and map services, visitors are expected to find it much easier to navigate.
Taking this road name assignment as an opportunity, the district plans to continue reviewing and supplementing any incomplete road name systems within its jurisdiction.
