The Incheon Michuhol-gu Dohwa 2·3-dong Administrative Welfare Center (Director Lee Woo-jong) announced on July 9 that it successfully held the eco-friendly upcycling craft class "Strong Earth, Growing Mind! Making Sock-waste Phone Bags!" on July 8 for 30 children from local daycare centers.

This program was designed to teach children the importance of resource recycling and carbon neutrality through upcycling sock-waste (a byproduct of sock manufacturing), and to support emotional development through fine motor skills.
The children learned the "finger knitting" technique (looping with fingers without needles) and completed their own custom bags decorated with straps and tassels.

Yu Yeong-mo, chairman of the Dohwa 2·3-dong Social Security Association, said, "It was highly rewarding to see the children smile and make their own bags. We hope this was a warm time to learn the value of resources."
Lee Woo-jong, head of Dohwa 2·3-dong, said, "This was a great opportunity for children to learn carbon neutrality. We will continue to expand cultural and environmental programs to support children's growth."
