Incheon Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Chan-dae) announced that it will recruit participants for the third, fourth and fifth sessions of the ‘Incheon Singles Meetup,’ run together with the Gyeyang-gu Family Center, from Sept. 9 to Oct. 7.
The program is an Incheon-style initiative that offers natural opportunities to meet a partner to young people who, caught up in busy daily lives, have little chance to do so. By having local government directly create venues for meeting rather than leaving marriage and dating solely to the individual, the project sits at the intersection of policies addressing low birth rates and supporting young adults.
The program is designed so that participants can get to know one another in a relaxed atmosphere, featuring dating coaching, one-on-one rotating conversations, couple games and dinner. This recruitment round is divided into three sessions, each selecting 50 men and 50 women for a total of 100 people, or 300 across all sessions.
As for schedules and venues, the third session will be held Oct. 24 at the Inspire Entertainment Resort in Yeongjong, the fourth on Oct. 31 at the Oakwood Premier Incheon in Songdo, and the fifth on Nov. 7 at the Inspire Entertainment Resort in Yeongjong.
Applicants must be single men and women aged 24 to 39 who are registered residents of Incheon or who work at companies, public institutions or similar organizations located within the city. Self-employed workers and freelancers may also apply, and applying for more than one of the third, fourth and fifth sessions is permitted. However, those who took part in the 2025 events or in the first and second events of 2026 are excluded. The final list of participants will be announced Oct. 12.
Applications can be submitted through the Incheon city website, the Gyeyang-gu Family Center website, or the integrated public services app ‘Incheon e-Jigap,’ or by visiting the Gyeyang-gu Family Center in person.
Young people have already shown strong interest in the program. The first and second events held in the first half of 2026 drew 3,049 applicants for 200 spots, a competition ratio of 15.2 to 1. Notably, 58 of the 100 pairs of participants went on to become couples, achieving a matching rate of 58 percent.
Kim Kyung-sun, director of the city’s Women and Family Bureau, said, ‘We have prepared a rich program so that young people can communicate naturally in a comfortable atmosphere,’ adding, ‘We will continue to expand a range of policy support so that young people can steadily plan and realize a happy future.’
For further details about the event and how to apply, inquiries can be directed to Incheon city’s Population Strategy and Planning Division (032-440-2808) or the Gyeyang-gu Family Center (032-541-2860, ext. 408).
